To us nothing is more sexy than a vintage silhouette; so when it came to styling this series we knew we wanted to use Bettie Page dresses. Bettie Page is one of our favorite boutiques in Fort Lauderdale. Their clothes are to die for and the staff is friendly, helpful & fun.
This look reminds me of all of the late fifties early sixties summer love movies. For me this calls to mind my absolute favorite movie as a child, Gidget. It was the ultimate summer love movie in my 10 year old opinion. I remember watching it over and over again just to look at her costumes. Each dress accentuated her tiny waste line and swayed at her every move.
When it came to styling I wanted this look to be playful. I love the pink rose detail at the bodice. To give the skirt an extra lift and a pop of color I added pink crinoline. I kept it low on my waste so it would peak out underneath the dress. The accessories I chose kept the look delicate & feminine. The classic wayfarer sunglasses were my favorite addition to this look b/c the leopard detail is an unexpected twist.
